The Durbar of 1911 was intended to be a grand affair to commemorate the coronation in Britain of King George V and Queen Mary. This Durbar also marks the historic announcement of the transfer of the Seat of Government in India from Calcutta to the ancient Capital of Delhi. This is the official invitation to the main event of the Delhi Durbar of 1911—The Coronation Ceremony.
