Sohan Qadri, one of the leading exponents of the neo-tantra movement came to his art inspired by his spiritual meanderings. A practising spiritualist from his early years, he sought to represent his learnings on canvas, and paper. Here too, Qadri captures the essence of spiritual awakening through an effulgent blue passing through a luminous violet. The black dots and lines are haloed with white representing light in the universe. The colours and geometry represent the mystic sandhya bhasha or twilight language, where communication happens through visuals, and language as we know it ‘becomes a burden’. The work of art doubles as a meditative prompt for those who can ‘wonderstand it’!
