Sohan Qadri was very young when he had turned to an itinerant spiritual life. When forced to return to a ‘worldly’ life, he devoted himself to art to give expression to his spiritual quest. In so doing, he became, perhaps, the only artist to come to art through spirituality; most others have been artists first who later explored spiritualism through art. This Untitled work creates a sublime meditative plane on white and black, with the white expanse gradually erasing ignorance. The pale palette evokes the muted shades of Copenhagen, Denmark, where he eventually settled.
