Turning his visual lens to celebrate indigenous art forms, Jyoti Bhatt creates his version of one of H. E. Dudeney’s classic puzzles wherein the cat must eat each thirteenth mouse, keeping in the same direction, the last one being the white one. Dudeney, an English author and a mathematician, is regarded as one of the foremost creators of mathematical puzzles, and his ‘cat and the mice’ puzzle remains popular till today. The puzzle, not surprisingly, resulted in many illustrations at the time, published in newspapers and magazines.
