Isolated

Viewed from the perspective of Hindustani classical music, Isolated could signify a raga sung in the virah ras, which depicts the emotion of separation. Jyoti Bhatt paints a poignant image of a lovelorn woman sitting alone, lost in thought. The half-crescent moon suggests that it is night-time. The female figure is sitting in an open area, away from her home, suggested by the huts that are painted, as is the rest of the work, with remarkable simplicity and clean lines.
