Ved Nayar’s art is an amalgamation of forms from the past, the present and his perception of the future. Though ultimately his figures became elongated, as if searching for immortality, reaching high above the earth towards the sky, in this Untitled work, the group of four women look starkly different from his other figures who look far more confident and assured. While Nayar’s work is a commentary on people crowding the world with assembly-line products, in this work the chaos doesn’t seem too stark.
