Ved Nayar’s art delves around humanity and the role it plays in changing the natural order of the world. At the centre of his creation stands the superhuman, a cultural icon that common people aspire to become but whose stardom they can rarely replicate. Completely self-absorbed even as the world crumbles around them, the superhumans try to cement their presence in history by physically straining themselves to reach the sky. Their elongated limbs, as also seen in this Untitled work, are reminiscent of ancient subcontinental sculpture.
