In a departure from his paintings, Ved Nayar creates a portrait of his quintessential figure in a different medium—papier-mâché in this case. Painted in blue, the pock-marked face has a forlorn look, as if in deep thought about the impending crisis that is slated to come its way. The eyes look sad and the lips, painted in bright red, are droopy. The overall look of the figure is puppet-like, and despite sharing a friendly appearance, looks morose, sad, dejected and ultimately detached.
