K. S. Kulkarni, who shifted to New Delhi after graduating from Sir J. J. School of Art, Bombay, travelled all over the world extensively, osmotically absorbing global artistic trends and merging them seamlessly with his individuated vocabulary. This work from the late 1970s shows diverse influences finding an aesthetic balance in Kulkarni’s canvas. Cubist inspiration is distinct as also the bright colours of Latin American murals, evoking graffiti in some sun-dappled locale.
