Like other artists, Chittaprosad too painted landscapes, still-lifes, portraits, even nudes, purely for artistic pleasure. His landscapes are ingenuous celebrations of natural beauty. In this Untitled landscape, we find no intrusion of any political dictum, or a search for perfection as advocated in academic realism. That said, it is an intimate work. The dense clouds gathered over the horizon, the impression of the swaying leaves on the trees, the two figures walking towards their hut, allow the viewer to get a glimpse of the artist’s rich visual language across genres.
