Shobha Broota’s use of the dot is as much an ode to tantra as it is to music. The central bindu is a source of energy—something it emits, but something which draws everything towards itself. This duality is like a cosmological visualisation of the universe in an artistic language that Broota has mastered. Her unique use of colours is almost magical and she imbues each one with a centrifugal force that is as compelling as it is aesthetic.
