If there is an artist whose energy and exuberance have been immortalised in his practice, it is Sunil Das. Seamlessly transitioning from one style to another, his most notable works honour and draw from his observations. Like several contemporaries, much of Das’s work, too, drew on humanism, attempting to understand the lives and struggles of ordinary people. This drawing from his student days shows a group of people, mostly women, huddled together.
