Painted en plein-air as a student, this is among those few works by Sunil Das that do not enter his familiar terrain of horses, bulls, and poignant humans. The impressionistic style of this painting points to the influence of artistic movements from the West that were part of the curriculum of his art school. Most artists would reject these in favour of their own individual style as their careers developed.
