Jai Zharotia had mastered the art of expressing the abstract existential questions of life through lucid works such as this Untitled one, often compared to Japanese haikus for their flat coloured background and sparse figures. Zharotia used his vivid imagination to express his exploration of what lay beyond the obvious. In the image here, a man stands stoically at the end of a flight of stairs from where a bull leaps into the unknown. The background suggests this to be the dreamscape of the protagonist. Is the leaping bull a symbol for man’s desire to escape his bonds?
