The stains, blobs and stubs in many of S. G. Vasudev’s paintings, including Manscape, emerged as his mainstay of expression. Vasudev gave himself the freedom to allow his brush to take charge, freeing his imagination. The final effect on his canvas was to discover these compositions rendered in a state of equilibrium, almost uplifted in the brilliant glow of his palette. Even though sometimes, the colour palette became darker, more mysterious, it was always luminous with suggestion of ochres, ocean blues, reds, aquamarines and iridescent greens.
