Exploring the erotica in many of his paintings, M. Suriyamoorthy paints here a female figure who is bold and vivacious in a not-so-obvious manner. On the face of it, there’s nothing unusual about her but a closer look suggests that she’s someone who explores her sexual freedom with an ease and wonder. The spatial divisions seem apparent in this Untitled work what with the painter, in his characteristic clean, bold lines, creating another male figure along with a section wherein patterns and motifs come alive.
