M. F. Husain integrated forms and figures equally compassionately whether in his paintings or in his lithographs. The scene he builds up here is similar to his paintings from the 1950s as well as his ‘toys’. The colour tones balance this print—a female figure with two donkeys—bearing the burden of her belongings. Quite possibly, she is ferrying pots from the kiln to the village bazaar to sell.
