All art is spiritual as it eventually connects the practitioner with the higher being through music, dance and painting. Bimal Dasgupta found his connect through abstraction. Through this Untitled work, he brings focus to the most seminal natural phenomenon—the flowering of a bud in tune with the rhythm set for it by nature itself. The flowering bud infuses the verdant field and the dark green leaves of its parent plant with an energy depicted through fluid strokes. The fecund red juxtaposed against the lush green emphasises the never-ceasing march of life since the beginning of time.
