It was in 1956 that Sakti Burman travelled to Paris from India on a scholarship to study at École Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Though his studies there was for a period of three years, he stayed on to pursue art with more seriousness. It was during this time that Burman travelled through Europe extensively, visiting places, including museums, art galleries, and travelling through some of the most beautiful towns and villages. This landscape captures one of those pristine European towns in clean lines and colours.
