Sakti Burman paints here a still-life in the style of academic realism, giving it, however, his own visual language and depth. The colour palette is bright, almost reminding one of the red earth encountered in numerous towns and villages of India, and instead of the classic tropes of still-lifes seen in Western styles of art, Burman puts other elements. On a wooden table is a violin, some music sheets, a potted plant, a modest fruit plate, along with a stole, which he paints in masterful brushstrokes.
