In this Untitled work, Sakti Burman draws us into a partially shown room with a mirror, a chair, and a table on which one can spot a basket of fruits, a violin and a jug which have all appeared in different paintings from this period. In which case one cannot help wondering whether the woman seen dressing up in the painting is also a model one might have glimpsed elsewhere in his paintings. The work, once again, is a reminder of the artist’s remarkable skill and control over brushstrokes.
