Anupam Sud often reflected on the institution of marriage, questioning it through her artistic lens and rich visual vocabulary. She captures in Between Vows and Words both, a moment of intimacy and a moment of inquiry between the couple. The hands of the woman and the man are firmly intertwined, surrounded by words such as love, tenderness, desire, purity, relation, vulnerable, freedom, physical, et cetera—all constituting the recipe for the perfect marriage—but it is obvious that the holy matrimonial vows are suspended in doubt.
