Though he painted landscapes very early on in his artistic career, focusing ultimately on figurative works, particularly of women, Suhas Roy continued to enjoy the genre of landscape and painted them throughout his career. This work from the Eighties shows the finesse of the painter, his supreme command on the lines and his amazing control on the medium. It’s easy to feel the breeze and one can hear the rustling leaves on the trees—such is the power of this work.
