There is a possibility that some of the figurative work in the printmaking genre by Hiranmoy Roychaudhuri featured his own family members. Whether or not it is true of this Untitled work, we don’t know. That said, the artist captures immaculate expressions in this lady’s image and her flowing hair, the effect of the printmaking technique to give us such precise balance of light and shadow. The stance of the female figure, focused on something, whether reading or simply lost in thought, is rendered with care and precision.
