Hiranmoy Roychaudhuri belongs to the group of artists who rejoiced in celebrating Indian heritage and culture in art. One of the foremost sculptors of India, a significant portion of his artistic practice was devoted to printmaking. The complex techniques of the genre didn’t deter him, and he created imposing visuals, particularly in the figurative genre. On view here is a visual of a mother giving her child a bath—an ordinary, common visual made extraordinary with remarkable skill of the artist.
