Acrylic, ink and gold pigment on ivory sheet pasted on fabric pasted on plywood
P. Khemraj’s art was born from a fantastical realm besides, of course, his lived experiences, memories, and nostalgia. In his artistic career, Khemraj created fascinating series that defined his unconventional artistic language, which borrowed liberally from both, Western and Eastern art. His Asha Hans series, particularly, celebrated technique, colours and forms to hold an exquisite balance of composition while rendering a strangely deceptive quality to the work. This Untitled work, while it is manifested as one seamless whole, holds within it several different elements than are immediately discernible.
