Burnt paper collages appeared as a series in the art of Himmat Shah when an accidental experiment led him to closely observe the effect of fire on paper. Strategically singeing the paper with cigarette stubs or other burning material, Shah created bold works such as this Untitled paper collage, which were original in concept, reflecting the quirkiness in his artistic endeavours. Showing both, the vulnerability and the strength of paper and its dimensionality when interacting with another medium, Shah became an innovator with this series.
