Suchitra Sen

This is the veteran and legendary Bengali film actress Suchitra Sen. This is perhaps one of her last few photographs before she retired into self-imposed confinement, refraining from making public appearances right until her passing in 2014. Nemai Ghosh or Nemaida, as he was fondly called by everyone, recalled that this photo was clicked sometime before the shooting of her last film Pranoy Pasha (1978). The official photographer of Satyajit Ray, Ghosh documented some rare moments of the director's life through his remarkable skills with the camera.
