Haren Das, a printmaker par excellence, creates here a compelling image that has been constructed through a complex printmaking technique, wherein he builds up layers, creates an interplay of light and shadow, juxtaposing colours systematically. Here’s an image of a happy moment—birds returning or in the process of returning to their homes. This is Das’s ode to rural India where most people kept designated—even if makeshift—areas for birds, which the concrete jungles of today lack completely.
