Jagmohan Chopra’s art is informed by memory, his internal, poetic world and the extensive travels he undertook, mostly with his students. Much like his watercolours, Chopra’s prints, as seen in Composition BP, reveal to viewers his command on building colour and form while creating strong, sharply executed lines and brushstrokes. Not critically concerned about form as such, his primary concern remained towards technique and colour. Mentor to an entire generation of successful printmakers, Chopra remains one of India’s most influential printmakers.
