From the late Sixties onwards, R. B. Bhaskaran has engaged with the idea of procreation or cycle of birth, life and death, and many of them have been referred to as his Life Cycle and Evolution series. This narrative has stayed with him in works through different symbols and metaphors. The formal elements of line, colour and space in these works have rigorously articulated to energise the metonymy with nature. Many of these works, including this Untitled painting, communicated his abstract ideas through metaphors derived from nature.
