This Untitled work belongs to a period when Shanti Dave was in the process of distancing himself from his previous figurative oeuvre. Unlike his later abstracts which were often on a monumental scale, this panorama of women in a rural setting is relatively small. Painted in vivid earth colours, it is evidently a leaf out of the surroundings Dave grew up in. The women seem engaged in some kind of community work even as they appear to share some light moments together.
