Though simply told, Paramjeet Singh’s escapist serigraphy prints were intended to bring the joy of art making into people’s homes. He was meticulous in the technique, ensuring that all the elements—the colours used in printmaking, the subject, the use of the surface and its spatial division—came together cohesively. Singh enjoyed experimenting in the landscape genre while working on his serigraphs but gradually the presence of people, as seen in this work, began to give his serigraphs a new dimension.
