Bireswar Sen created landscapes in the miniature format without compromising on the feel of the place. The Mystic Monogram is a fine example of how the lack of space on the canvas is not a hinderance to the painter to display his rich colour palette, even the vastness of the mountains, and the rich blue skies. An unknown source from where a bright light appears adds an overall glow to the painting. In Sen’s paintings, the human figure often appears to further reveal the vastness of the mountains and the vistas.
