A miniature landscapist par excellence, Bireswar Sen’s work may have been compressed in a small space only slightly larger than a matchbox but did not create an impression of crowding. From lofty Himalayan snow peaks to dense forests, Sen’s precise and masterful brushstrokes created works to add to nature ‘what it does not possess: the mind and soul of man’. Viewing Sen’s works from a magnifying lens, in fact, offers a great experience, showing how the artist skillfully created works with depth and visual lyricism.
