G. R. Santosh’s works were inspirational and expressive of an archetypal imagery that is part of a collective memory of the tantra tradition. Exploring the theories and principles of Kashmir Shaivism and the esoteric vocabulary it embodied, reclaiming what constituted the real as opposed to the unreal, Santosh created works that were meditative. His technique of using colour to reveal bright light was unique, adding to the visual symbology of geometric forms through which he conveyed spirituality.
