Though not much is known about Piraji Sagara the artist, he was a well-known teacher at the School of Architecture in Ahmedabad. This fact also led to his experiments with materials—many of them architectural—that came to define his work. The Untitled work in consideration here is one such example where Sagara creates an abstract, minimalist aesthetic highlighted by a balance of controlled lines and just a hint of colour to keep the focus on the texture and tactility of wood that it is made of.
