Though trained in academic art at Sir J. J. School of Art, Bombay, K. K. Hebbar was inspired by the traditional art forms of India, and punctuated his life’s journey as a painter with lived experiences and inspiration drawn from various artistic movements from the West. He dabbled in various mediums and genres—as represented in this Untitled work—and created art that pulsated with rhythm, grace and energy. The street musicians represented in this Untitled work are delicately rendered in silhouette, the black background lending elegance to the figures in white.
