Gouache and watercolour on paper pasted on mount board
Perhaps there is no other artist who has paid tribute to Indian music and dance through his paintings as K. K. Hebbar did. He created many works celebrating specific music and dance styles, and even trained in Kathak to better translate the rhythm of performing arts in his works. In this watercolour work, he captures the end of a day in countryside when the village folk are presumably wrapping up their work and returning home from the fields, while some of them are already breaking into song and dance to relax before retiring for the day.
