Prodosh Das Gupta’s sculptures are invocations to relationships that he rendered as an art form in bronze. His art training in India was burnished further in London and Paris, and he engaged with his material to create shapes that had a fluidity, which he achieved by blending his eclectic training with a language that was inspired by Western sculptors such as Auguste Rodin and Henry Moore. Aristocrats shows Das Gupta’s control in creating geometrical approximation, giving the figures their stature while ensuring a relationship between the two.
