Nature and its inherent life force have been the leitmotif of Devraj Dakoji’s art as he spent his early years in the midst of natural surroundings helping his father collect herbs for his Ayurvedic practice. In this etching and viscosity on paper, Dakoji explores the silent power of life to sprout and thrive in natural surroundings, untended by any external agency, through an amorphous shape that throbs with life like lava bubbling out of a volcano. The swirls and turns inside the form make it a living entity ready to embark on its journey on the earth.
