In the 1980s, Avinash Chandra sought an organic unity between all aspects of nature, especially flowers, fauna, foliage, water, and creatures of the sea and land. This was the decade when he had travelled to Jamaica with his second wife Valerie to fall in love with the colourful island country in the Caribbean Sea. The result was imagery that was redolent with lush vegetation and a sense of lyricism, calmness, and meditativeness, in a rich palette of blues, greens, reds, and ochres.
