Dry pigments with oil and acrylic mediums on canvas
It was a painting by Mark Rothko, the American abstractionist known for his colour-field paintings, that Natvar Bhavsar saw in India at an exhibition that first ignited his interest in abstract art. Within a decade, Bhavsar and Rothko were friends in New York, with a lot in common between their artistic practices. Evolving his unique style with dry pigments, Bhavsar soon made a name for himself as a leading artist in the genre in the U.S. VEEROO is a celebration of pure abstraction and also an optical illusion as the red nebulous mass seems motile, imploding upon itself when viewed from afar.
