During 1963-73, Radha Charan Bagchi officiated twice as the principal of Kala Bhavana. This oil landscape, painted using an academic method and not the Bengal School wash technique, echoes the humanist sensibility of the Santiniketan artists. The painting is not just another view of the coast but showcases a fishing community and their intimate relationship with nature for survival.
