This serigraph in tepid wash shades is an introspective work from the early years of Dattatraya Apte’s career, who has built his reputation as a printmaker. As the title suggests, it’s the story of introspection, of a man wedged in the thick corporate jungle where, perhaps, he is an inadvertent participant in a rat race that leaves him disconnected with himself. The maze of skyscrapers around him, his attire, the microcosm of the busy workplace reflected on his being, and a barrier closeting him in the artificial world attest to his mental discomfort in the space.
