A work from the mature stage of the artist’s career, it is almost an allegory for the satiation that Ambadas must have felt in having successfully explored his individuated style of abstraction throughout his career, and achieved perfection in it. The cool palette of pink and blue is distinctly a eulogy to his second home, Norway. But, it’s the placid character of his signature squiggles that catches one’s attention—these are spread all over the picture plane in a composed manner, free flowing but not rushing madly, evoking the northern sky of his adopted home.
