Vasudha Thozhur’s exposure to art practices in different geographies has informed her work. Though her art is open to multiple interpretations, one finds Thozhur addressing issues of violence and the unruly strength that people apply on those who are powerless and weak. Many of her paintings can be uneasy to view but that’s the position that the artist takes in a bid to shake us from our slumber and wake up to the atrocities around us, of which Still Life with Head Encased is an example.
