Indian artists often painted religious sites, pilgrim spots, temples, and more to capture in their art not only a visual language that showed their skill but also served as documentation and historical evidence of what those areas must have looked like all those years ago compared to now. L. N. Taskar paints here a temple site, which, quite possibly, is located in an area of Maharashtra. Taskar’s skill—the oils having a gentleness in the way the brushstrokes are applied—is on display here.
