Village on Kumaun Valley (Kumaun Himalaya)

One of the foremost painters in the landscape genre, Kisory Roy was devoted to the academic style of art but infused it with his own visual vocabulary. Roy often did plein air paintings and his landscapes are infused with a rhythm and a sense of pure joy.
