The year when Which Way Will the River Flow Tomorrow was made is when Rekha Rodwittiya decided to ‘distance’ herself from M. S. University’s Faculty of Fine Arts, where her official appointment to teach for a year was ‘ambiguously terminated’. Rodwittiya’s art belongs to the visual culture of imbibing influences and engaging with personal histories, beliefs and value systems that artists absorb and visually translate into their art. Not just drawing and painting, Rodwittiya’s attention to detail in thinking through the elaborate titles of her works is intriguing.
